Beta-Testing Airfoil for Mac’s Chromecast Support
Posted By Paul Kafasis on August 12th, 2016
Update (October 28th, 2016): Airfoil for Mac 5.5 and higher now offer support for Google Chromecast! Read all about it in the Airfoil for Mac 5.5 blog post.
Back in March, we announced that our plans to support Chromecast devices in Airfoil. Users want to be able to send audio from their computers to their Chromecast devices, and we want to help. Just over a month ago, we showed off this working in internal builds. We’re currently wrapping up the last work on it, and so far it has been working quite well! Before our official release, however, we’re hoping to get some help stress-testing this new functionality. Interested?

Update (August 19th, 2016): We’re all full up on testers for now, but keep an eye on this site, as well as our Twitter account. We’ll let you know if more slots open up, or just when the new Airfoil ships!

August 14th, 2016 at 12:26 pmGreetings.. Y’all contacted me to test chromecast support.. I would absolutely love to, but I never purchased a license because I have zero airplay devices. I have a MacBook and all the rest are Google/Linux devices.
Thanks for making that happen!

August 15th, 2016 at 6:43 pmI had four ChromeCast Audios and one ChromeCast v2 stick but I only use Windows. I also have an Airfoil license. I at least have 2 iPhones if that counts for anything =D
In all honesty, I purchased a license with the anticipation of ChromeCast support. I currently use another program but the functionality isn’t really there like Airfoil is.
