Rogue Amoeba’s 15th Anniversary Sale

Update (October 1st, 2017): Our anniversary sale has ended. Our phenomenal products are still available at their regular, everyday low prices, however, so start at our front page to learn more. When you’re ready, head over to our store to purchase.

September 30th will mark a major milestone here at Rogue Amoeba. On that same date 15 years ago, we unveiled the very first version of Audio Hijack. Put on your solar eclipse glasses so as not to be blinded, and have a look at Audio Hijack 1.0:

The original Audio Hijack
Audio Hijack 1.0, in all its glory

From “RealOne Player” being selected as a source (or “target” as it was then known) to the pinstripe-festooned interface, this entire screenshot is an amazing relic from a distant past. A decade and a half and many improvements later, we’re tremendously proud that Audio Hijack is still going strong as a powerful recording tool for MacOS.

For that matter, Rogue Amoeba is going strong as well. From the humble beginnings seen above, we’ve built a broad lineup of award-winning audio tools, and we’re now able to celebrate our fifteenth year doing business. We continue to relish the chance to earn our livings by meeting your audio needs.

We’re incredibly grateful to our users, and not just for your purchases over the years. Our products have been improved immensely thanks to the helpful feedback and suggestions we get from our dedicated fans. As well, the impact of satisfied users spreading the word about our tools can’t be overstated. If you’ve made a purchase from our store, told a friend about our apps, or sent in comments, please know how much we appreciate you.

Sale-ebrate With Us

We’re always eager to help even more people with their audio needs, so to celebrate our 15th anniversary, we’re offering a rare and very limited-time sale. Through the end of September, we’re offering discounts on every product we make.

So just how big is this sale? We started by lowering the price of all of our products by 15%, to match the 15 years we’ve been in business. We didn’t stop there, however. We’re also offering the chance to boost those savings by 1.33x, 1.67x, 2x, 3x, or even 4x. A few lucky users will save as much as 60% off our everyday low prices.

Providing a great deal on our apps is one small way we can thank our existing customers for all their support, and to help new users with our tools as well. We don’t discount our software often, but right now, everyone can save on every purchase from Rogue Amoeba.

Visit our 15th Anniversary sale page to obtain your discount, then make your purchase to get these great savings.

One Other Thing: Will You Help Spread the Word?

Word of mouth is our very best form of advertising, and we’re always tremendously thankful when our customers let others know about our work. If you’re a fan of Audio Hijack, Airfoil, or any of our other audio tools, we’d be honored if you’d tell your friends!

This rare discounts available this week make it a great time to spread the word about Rogue Amoeba. Tweet a link to https://rogueamoeba.com/store/deals/15years/, post about it on Facebook, or share it anywhere you like. We’ll be most appreciative!

  1. Pete says:

Congratulations on reaching 15 years Roguers. You have been kicking @$$ for a long time. Keep it up!!

  2. Dave Blair says:

Congratulations. Great Time to have a sale now too as Apples Airplay 2 in iOS 11 now does what your Airfoil does but for free!

    Cash in whilst you can.

  3. Chad says:

    Congrats on the milestone!

What’s this “RealOne Player”? Haha. Amazingly enough, real.com still exists, but Real Player has morphed into a video player for Windows. Glad we aren’t struggling with multiple plug-ins just to play audio or video these days (Real Player, Windows Media Player, QuickTime).

  4. Timm says:

Congratulations! I just checked & realized I bought my first Audio Hijack license in 2003. The various versions were always in use, unlike other apps – love it!

  5. Jaime says:

Congrats your tools are amazing and help me a lot every day.
    Have a great aniversary!!!

  6. Ian Clay says:

Been there all along, enjoying the journey with you. Many thanks for Nicecast, back in the day I used it to broadcast a radio show on ampcast. Then AudioHijack, great for live mixes and now Loopback makes the whole process a breeze. My only request.. bring back the machine gun toting amoeba!

  7. Jenna J McClay says:

new to the Amoebas…but OMG am i loving the lineup! Thank you for a great set of apps, happy anniversary and long may you be wonderful!

    Thanks all.

  8. Andy Espo says:

Congrats Paul to you and your team!

  9. Paul Kafasis says:

Pete: Thanks for the kind words!

Dave Blair: The cynicism here is a bit off-base. AirPlay 2 won’t send audio from non-iTunes apps on the Mac, nor does it connect to Bluetooth or Chromecast devices. We expect Airfoil will remain useful to many, many people, even after AirPlay 2 arrives.

Chad: Thankfully, I can say that I’ve been fortunate enough to not need to pay any attention to RealPlayer for a decade or so!

Timm: Nice! I’m glad we’ve been able to help out for so many years!

Jaime: Thank you – delighted we can assist.

Ian Clay: Thanks for being with us! Ammo is still around, just in slightly less armed form.

Jenna J McClay: We’re glad you found us!

Andy Espo: Long time, no see – thanks, brother!

  10. Tom says:

NetrootsRadio and a great many of our shows would not be possible without Rogue Amoeba software. We’ve been 24/7/365 for six years largely because of you.

    Thanks from Team NetrootsRadio

  11. Nancy K. says:

Thanks so much for your great Airfoil product! I’ve been using it to build my whole house system for many years now. AirPlay 2 STILL doesn’t enable me to do what I can do with Airfoil. It is a much more powerful program, and as I add new devices (some Windows/Android now), I love that you let me add to my system. I much prefer Airfoil app to device dedicated apps, freeing me from only using one brand of speaker. Thank you again for a great product! You make this old lady feel good when I can brag I set up the whole house system myself!

  12. Yoyo says:

    Congrats!!!! :)

  13. Rob says:

Rogue Amoeba tools have powered the backend of Toast Radio’s music stream for nearly all of those 15 years — currently Audio Hijack and Loopback (and would also be Nicecast again, if it gained AAC-HE support 😉).

Thanks for your ongoing dedication to Mac audio utilities!

  14. me says:

I’ve gone to the site and loaded my cart up twice now with nary an indication of a discount or scratch-off boost. Just between us, promotions are a lot more rewarding for customers when they actually work. ;-)

  15. Christopher Davison says:

Hooray 15 years! Congrats guys. Just checked out the sale. I’ve been wanting to purchase Airfoil for Mac & PC for a while now but it doesn’t look like the discount applies to the dual OS bundle… Can you hook me up?

  16. FoamFan says:

This is an amazing accomplishment! Good for you all. I’ve used Airfoil for many years and now I’m looking at Audio Hijack too. Very cool!

  17. Paul Kafasis says:

Tom: Awesome – glad we can assist you and the tean!

Nancy K.: Brag away! We’re delighted to be a part of your audio setup!

    Yoyo: Thank you!

Rob: Awesome, glad we can assist! As for Nicecast, we’ll see what happens in the near future.

me: You need to be sure to follow the directions, and visit the deal site.

Christopher Davison: As the Sale page notes, because bundles and upgrades are already heavily discounted, no further discounts apply. Sorry!

FoamFan: Thanks for the kind words – we hope you’ll enjoy Audio Hijack as much as you’ve enjoyed Airfoil!

  18. John T says:

I have used & loved your products for many years. For me it’s about loyalty. you guys built things when they didn’t exist. I love your products & will keep using them until you stop making them! Cheers from Scotland !
