Rogue Amoeba’s Tenth Anniversary Sale

Update (October 1st, 2012): The sale is over, though the great products remain. You can still pick up our software at our everyday low prices, right through our store.

It’s hard for us to believe, but Rogue Amoeba is just about to turn ten years old. September 30th, 2012 will mark a full decade since we first released Audio Hijack 1.0. Since then, we’ve shipped many top-notch new products, along with 355 total updates. We’ve brought our team from its initial three founders to its present ten employees. And we’ve earned some of the highest honors in the industry, including dozens of top-notch ratings from well-respected journalists.

The most rewarding thing, however, has been satisfying our customers simply by making our software. For ten years, we’ve been able to do a job we love, thanks to the purchases of our customers, along with their invaluable feedback and kindness in spreading the word on our software. All that has enabled us to provide our tools to an ever-growing user base, and we’re incredibly grateful to each and every person who’s purchased one of our apps.

Act Fast, Save Big

In honor of this milestone, we want to get our software out to even more people, so we’ve put up some major discounts on our software. Through the end of the month, customers can save $10 on products throughout our store. That means Audio Hijack Pro and the recently-released Fission 2 are just $22 each (or even better, $40 for the pair!), Airfoil is just $15, and Piezo is just $5. This once-in-a-decade sale will be gone before you know it, so act fast!

Our Sincere Gratitude

Rogue Amoeba has been going strong for a decade, and we hope to be here for decades to come. Allow me to again express our sincere gratitude to all of our existing users for their purchases over the years, and to welcome new users to the fold as well. Thank you very, very much.

One Last Thing

We’d be grateful if you told your friends (and enemies too!) about Rogue Amoeba and this sale. Word of mouth from satisfied customers is our best form of advertising, so please, spread the word by mentioning this sale on Twitter, Facebook, and anywhere else you like.

  1. MegaJoe says:

Congratulations to you all! 10 years is a great achievement and I’m pleased to have used your software for almost that entire time. AudioHijack Pro 1 was my first Rogue purchase!!

  2. Frank says:

Congrats, guys! I really enjoy Airfoil.

Just one question: why no discount love on the MAS version of Piezo?

  3. Sebastian says:

    Happy anniversary guys!

  4. Sebastiaan (the real one) says:

    Well, congrats fellas.

  5. FutureCustomer says:

    Congrats.

Please, make available these savings, I want to buy everything, but using App Store. (Fission)

P.S.: Airfoil and cia I’ll buy direct from you.

  6. Paul Kafasis says:

Sorry, folks, but these discounts will only be available by purchasing directly. Apple’s 30% cut in the App Store is a big chunk already – $10 off on top of that just isn’t viable. So, to save, you’ll need to purchase direct, right through our store.

  7. David S says:

Is the discount also for Nicecast or only the software that was mentioned in the blog post?

Not to complain, I am happy for you and don’t begrudge you your money. Just asking :)

  8. Christopher says:

Happy for your anniversary, congrats… but the lack of MAS options for this sale mean it is not going to work for a lot of us. Oh well.

  9. DavGreg says:

Use RadioShift almost daily, Fission and Audio Hijack Pro on occasion. Great stuff.

    Thanks and congrats.

  10. Patrick McDonough says:

Congratulations and thanks for the wonderful apps. Your happy customer

P.S. It looks like the upgrade packages are not included in your anniversary sale, are they?

  11. Charles says:

@Christopher Who is ‘a lot of us’?! The people who can’t figure out how to enter a credit card in an online form?! Speak for yourself!!

Amebas, I will definitely be taking advantage of this offer. Thank you and congrats!

  12. Jorma H says:

Ok. Sorry. I feel stupid. It’s quite clear up there in the post: “To get in on the savings, visit our Tenth Anniversary page by clicking this ridiculous image of Ammo about to chow down on some cake:”

  13. Paul Kafasis says:

David S: The discount is for all the software on the deal page. Just follow the post instructions to see all the deals.

Christopher: If you wish to save, you can always purchase direct from our store. If you prefer to order from the Mac App Store, that’s ok too, but no discounts are applied there. It’s entirely up to you.

DavGreg: Thanks for the kind words!

Patrick McDonough: No, I’m afraid not. Our upgrades are already deeply discounted.

    Charles: Enjoy!

  14. Christopher says:

Sorry guys, but the MAS is the wave of the future. Yer gonna have to get on board or be left behind. Yes, Apple takes their 30%, but what you get in return for that more than makes up for it.

  15. Paul Kafasis says:

Christopher: Thank you for your continued feedback. Having multiple products in the Mac App Store, it seems pretty clear we are working to “get on board”.

Then again, if the Mac App Store is the wave of the future, it’s a future with no discounts and no discounted upgrades. So perhaps we’re just ahead of the curve here.

  16. Joachim says:

Years of fantastic software! Congratulations on this birthday. I will be hoping for many more.

And Paul, you were more polite to Christopher than I would be. Christopher, do you run a software business? Has it been around for ten years? It seems the well known phrase applies, “Mind your own business”.

  17. Denis says:

I understand you not wanting to give Apple 30% compared to keeping it all going through your own store but I’m fed up managing licenses for software that I’ve bought from individual developers (I have a license for AudioHijackPro and I can no longer find..).

I was about to buy Fission just because it was on sale but I see that the MAS version is still full price. Sometimes getting 70% of a discounted price is better than 0% of full price.

  18. Paul Kafasis says:

Denis: I’m sorry you find managing software licenses such a chore. If that alone will prevent you from purchasing the app, so it goes. You can, of course, purchase Fission and Piezo via the Mac App Store – they simply don’t qualify for discounts the way our direct versions do.
