Recently, there’s been some good discussion regarding the Mac App Store, as several high-profile apps (including TextExpander and Postbox) have left the store, returning to direct sales. Apple’s recent sandboxing restrictions have also caused many applications to lose functionality. It’s a period of turmoil in the store, and Lex Friedman has a report well worth reading on where things stand, along with thoughts on the future. He spoke to several developers, and I was pleased to be able to offer some insight, as well as to hear from others.
