    Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask these questions.

    1. Do you need to to get an agreement with something like Akamai to get the data stream out to lots of people?

    2. If not, about how many people can listen to a stream on a typical broadband (500kbps upload)?

    Thanks

  2. Paul Kafasis says:

John: If you need to stream to many people, you’ll want to get an MP3 streaming server (just like you have a web server for a web site). This can be purchase from many different places.

As for how many people your connection can support, please see the How Many Listeners? page of the Nicecast manual, under the Help menu.

This sort of thing is best asked to us directly via our support section. Please email us there if you have further questions.

I’m not having any success with Nicecast 1.9.5 on 10.4.11 with the latest updates. Anyone else having troubles? Since updating from 1.9.4, I cannot get Nicecast to connect to either System Audio or iTunes. And I have updated both Soundflower and Hijack.

(I’ve posted this as a support ticket just now also.)
