A Call for Beta Testers

Come help shape the future!

As mentioned back in January, we’ve working on some big updates to Audio Hijack, Loopback, and SoundSource. While those updates are still some ways off, we’re now looking to recruit some folks to help us test things before they ship to the general public.

In the near future, we’ll distribute private betas to a small number of testers running MacOS 15 (Sequoia). If you’re interested in being part of that group, apply through our form.

In your message, be sure to include:

  • Your exact current version of MacOS

  • Your favorite kind of bird

Update (April 13, 2025): We’re all full up on testers for now, but keep your eye on this blog for more news in the months ahead.

We’ll get in touch with chosen applicants later this month, so watch your inbox. If you don’t hear from us, just keep an eye on this blog for more updates.

MacOS 15.4 Brings A Key Audio Bug Fix

We recommend updating to MacOS 15.4 now.

MacOS 15.4 is the latest major update to MacOS 15 (Sequoia), and we’re very glad to see it. Though MacOS 15.3 didn’t include any known audio fixes, today’s update includes a key audio-related bug fix to the operating system.

Audio Playback, Particularly in Safari, No Longer Cuts Out Unexpectedly
Previously, a MacOS bug had the potential to cause cutouts when audio was being captured by another application. This was most often heard (or not heard) with Safari, when playing media in multiple tabs or windows. SoundSource users were the most impacted by this issue, but any of our audio capture products could be affected.
